Camping with kids is great fun and it gives them a chance to get back to nature. With older kids consider a moonlight walk or getting up early to watch the sunrise – simple pleasures we hardly ever experience these days.

Thanks for a great article that has giving me loads of ideas on where to take the little monsters this summer!

Earlier this month, we enjoyed a multi-generational vacation to Kauai — my husband and I + my stepson, his wife and the two grandgirls (ages 5 and 3) — and I HIGHLY recommend such an arrangement. We were able to bond with the grandgirls better than on previous long weekend visits (they live in Vancouver and we’re in CA) and were also able to give their parents a bit of “date time” that they wouldn’t have had otherwise. We had two condos at Kaha Lani on Kauai’s eastside which is a PERFECT location for getting around to different parts of the island + it was well situated for family vacation fun — definitely a kid-friendly accommodation!

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and predict multi-generational vacations will become a hot idea in the not-too-distant future. It sure worked well for all of us!

We like to vacation at Naco/1000 Trails campground preserves. Our favorite is Rancho Oso, a horse ranch, near Santa Barbara. They have trail rides, 2 pools, a lodge that serves meals on the weekends, and it’s a lot of fun!

I’d love to take a cruise. I think we’d all think it was fun in our family.

I am visiting from the Relax and Surf Sunday blog hop. It is nice to “meet” you.

Definitely, it is a good idea to take the kids camping. I love Yellowstone, but really, their are a lot of local places to camp in each state. It is relaxing and helps the kids to be kids and enjoy the outdoors.

If you have kids, considering their wants is important in a vacation. As much as you might love visiting the Worlds Largest Ball of Twine, the kids might not find it quite as interesting. Kids usually enjoy things where they can be active, such as games and sports. Educational activities can work great too if the kids enjoy them.
